YOUR MAC. YOUR BUSINESS.
Privacy, kept simple.
Candle’s app works locally on your Mac. We don’t receive your keyboard activity or record what you type.

What the app stores
Candle stores your preferences on your Mac. If you enable optional keyboard activity tracking, it reads time since keyboard activity and stores daily aggregate activity seconds locally for up to 90 days. One active minute earns one point. It does not record individual keys, typed text, websites visited, or which apps you use.
Tracking is off by default. You can disable it or clear activity history in Settings.
No account. No tracking SDKs.
The app has no accounts, advertising, subscriptions, analytics, or third-party tracking SDKs. It does not upload your activity totals.
Battery and preferences
Candle reads your battery level and power source to apply the optional battery safeguard. It uses this information locally and does not keep a battery history. macOS manages the optional Launch at Login setting.
This website
This website does not include advertising, analytics scripts, or a mailing-list form. Its hosting provider processes information needed to deliver and secure the site, such as network requests and IP addresses. Website hosting is separate from Candle’s local-only app.
